James & WARD Ltd, Staffordshire’s highly regarded Architectural Consultants are delighted to announce personal sponsorship of up and coming young racing driver, Matthew George for the 2018 season.
Aged 22 and in only his third season of racing having moved directly from Karting to racing Matthew’s story is both interesting and unusual. At 20 years of age and with no experience of car racing at all Matthew teamed up with Superdry founder James Holder racing an Aston Martin Vantage GT4 in the British GT series. His background as a technician and driver coach at Base Performance Simulators stood him in good stead whilst he honed his own skills and helped James to develop his. 2017 saw the pair racing together again in the Aston in the European GT4 series Southern Cup. Improving all the time they achieved a great season finale winning their class in the Abu Dhabi 12 hour race in December.
For the 2018 season Matthew is excited to be part of the inspirational Invictus Games Racing Team, a collaboration between the Invictus Games Foundation and James Holder, as one of the Pro Drivers racing one of two specially commissioned Jaguar GT4 specification supercars engineered in Britain by the Special Vehicle Operations arm of Jaguar Land Rover. They will race in the British GT4 series. He will also partner James again in the Super Racing Aston Martin in the GT4 Southern Cup series.
“Matthew’s story is unique. His dedication to realising his dreams and achieving his ambitions belies his years and sits well with our philosophy at James & Ward of turning ideas into reality through our BIM expertise” said Andrew Ward, Managing Director at James & Ward. “We and our customers will enjoy watching Matthew grow and develop in the racing industry as we watch our new building designs develop from the ground up”
Matthews racing season begins with the Invictus Racing Team at Oulton Park on March 31st. Follow Matthew’s season and read his regular blog on the James & Ward website www.jamesward.org.uk.
